Research
My current research project focuses on two issues. First, it examines whether, and to what extent, what we know and ignore determines what we ought to do and what it takes to act rationally. Second, it examines whether morally egregious beliefs can, in principle, be epistemically justified – and if so, whether someone is culpable for acting on such a belief. My most immediate future research project aims to extend these issues to the social realm. More specifically, I’m concerned with how (a certain kind of) ignorance helps to sustain oppression and injustice, as well as how (a certain kind of) knowledge can help us to ameliorate it.
